Would anyone like to recommend the insurance company they use to cover their dojo? I'm doing an informal survey. Would you mind also saying how much it costs you? If you don't want to post it in public, maybe you could PM me :)

Thanks.

David, I just went through this. I really used a great deal of time to find the right coverage and a good price.
Just so you know, in the past (karate & kickboxing) I have used Markel and the Martial Arts group, which are probable well known for doing business with various systems. I found Fitness and Wellness to be the best bet for the aikido I'm doing now.

Hope it helps.

Karateinsurance.com Super easy, and they cover general commercial liability plus participant insurance. I use these guys in both our schools. They are fabulous. And have great prices.

I second the karateinsurance.com recommendation. We had very good luck with them, and the price for the year was around $500. Not only do they cover general liability, they also cover medical expenses in case of serious injury ($200 deductible). The coverage also extends to seminars (and/or tournaments etc.) for participants who are not members of your dojo.

Can't say anything bad about these guys. I liked what I read on their website, what they said on the phone, and that they saved me over a thousand dollars from my previous insurance company (K&K) whom I will never use again... (too high minimums, renewal fees, broker fees, etc...)

Don't stop yet- I've been checking them out to see if they will cover the canadian dojos and haven't had any luck so far, so keep the recommendations coming. Thanks for asking the question, Dave.
