OK, I've been reading the thread on Aikido v Judo, and it's been very educational and entertaining, but I would now like to ask a different question. It's a question for those of you who've have a good amount of Judo and a good amount of Aikido training in your personal MA history. How have you integrated the two in your personal fighting repertoire/skills/flavor? I know it has been done in the past by past masters, and I am not interested in this thread on discussing which is better etc, but would like to hear about more of a personal description or story of how you have managed to integrate the two arts into yourself. Did you do it consciously - that is develop a personal (non-Dojo related) training regimen to integrate them and if so what was it and how did you do it? Or did it just "happen" - subconsciously - and if so when did you realize that they had melded in you? Or, on the flip side, if you have not integrated into you yet, please tell us about that too. Me personally, I've been doing Aikido only for a little bit, but learned Judo techniques (but not the art per se) in bits and pieces from friends over the years, and also stirred in some Shuai Jiao (Chinese wrestling) into the mix, and only now am starting to get a slight tickling in my head of how they can all be integrated and flow together. Thanks.
