I don't actually do aikido, although I have had the pleasure of working out with, done seminars under, and have had fairly long personal (in real life) conversations with some aikidoka 8th dans I've had the fortune of befriending. I have read a fair bit of aiki-related literature. I certainly know that aiki is too often overlooked by laypeople, as it's not an obvious MA.
Why don't I do aikido? I've often asked myself that. It's one of the things I always wanted to do in my MA career (such as it is)* but at first there was nobody around, and later I've always been committed to something else at the time. It's always something I've felt to be underrated, and I always enjoy reading the perspectives of aikidoka.

Hi Jil;
Did we meet several years ago. I spent an afternoon (or morning) visiting a Ki society dojo in Kitchner. Had a good time if I remember and your name sounds very familiar.
