Hello everyone, I have been practicing :ai: :ki: :do: for nearly 4 weeks now, and I have to say it is an interesting martial art. I am studying under Marvin Bookman of Aikido Tacoma, and so far it is going pretty well. I mainly have troubles with front rolls still, somehow I am unable to get those down well, but there are still many things I am still learning. Anyway, I am glad to be at the forum hope to become an active member :D

I'm 16 too and i've been traing for a couple of months. Forward rolls i was ok at, its backwards breakfalling that gets me. My sensei tends to say pinky first as you put your hand towards the mat for forward rolls, thats how I did it anyway :D

For those who are just starting, the best advice I ever received was when my sensei told me that every question I ever had and every problem that I would encounter in Aikido would be solved by just coming to practice on a regular basis. I didn't listen to him but now these years later, I realize that he was right.
Enjoy the journey!
