View Full Version : Introduction
Just a few lines to say hello to everyone and tell you how much pleasure I've received spending time at this forum. I introduced myself yesterday and today the message when I signed in said "introduce yourself" another message said I didn't sign out. Am a bit confused since I thought I did. Age catching up with me I guess! I was in Aikido in the last half of the 60's. My sensei was a Vietnamese man who taught at the presidio of Monterey in Monterey,California. We started out on Canerey Row and ended up over a pet shop on Lighthouse Ave. My Sensei studied with OSensei and Sensei Tohei at Honbu Dojo. I had a chance to ;be ;on the mat with Sensei Tohei in 1969 and it was a great honor! About ten years later I tried to return to Aikido. I believe the new Dojo had taken over our old dojo name-Monterey Aiki-Kai. I didn"t last too long due to a crisis of conscience...there were way too many Black belts and I felt their techniques left a lot to be desired. Since it wo;u;ld have been bad form to critisize the Sensei my only choice was to pull out...so many memories...
Hi Jean-Paul,
Sounds like you've been in aikido in one form or another for quite a long time! Welcome to the AikiWeb Forums!
