I will be on vaction next week, and was looking to practice for a day. I searched on the dojo search and found TOO many choices ;)

Is there anyone here who can vouch for one school or another; or (sadly) any school I should avoid? Thanks in advance.

Wow... somebody from Wayne, P.A.

I wouldn't think meeting them here...

I was in VFMA... class of 95

I think there's a Yoshinkan Dojo around there somewhere...

Rather off-topic since I don't know of any dojos in the area, but:

Iriawan,

My father is a graduate of Valley Forge from '64. We attended his 20th class reunion when I was a boy. Later, in the early '90s, when I was on Penn State's Army ROTC rifle team, we shot matches against Valley Forge.

I enjoyed walking around the campus and meeting the cadets.

You're 11 and a half miles driving (http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&1a=&1c=wayne&1s=pa&1z=&1y=US&do=nw&1ex=1&2ex=1&src=maps&ct=NA&2a=50%20E%20Germantown%20Pike&2c=Norristown&2s=PA&2z=19401%2d1512&2y=US&2pn=&2l=MovqDjKFVc8%3d&2g=eitUQe490LA%3d) from David Goldberg's dojo in Norristown (http://www.Aikidoseishinkan.org) . You should give him a try.

You'll have a good time a Goldberg Sensei's. Used to train there a LONG time ago, recently hooked up with him at a seminar. Top notch. He was the second guy to try to teach this klutz aikido.

When I look for a dojo to practice at while traveling, my first choice is the one that is closest stylistically to what I paractice 'at home'. Should be plenty of Aikikai choices

Next I would look to the instructor...
