Aikido is great I must say. But how does it do on the street (packing meat)?

You can't really use your bokken to cut the meat because it's not sharp and you'd just get blood all over your bokken, the one you just payed 135 dollars for.


Your hand to hand techniques will only help you in bagging the meat. But you would never be able to cut it!!!


I'm telling you, I just don't think Aikido is really 'effective' in the meat packing business.

Any thoughts?

You can use Aikido skills to throw large haunches of meat, instead of carying them.

Care for your new bokken by "seasoning" it regularly with olive oil.

Blood wipes right off, and the meat is oiled just enough to prepare for pan-frying.

Obviously you have not been to a Nishio Shihan Demonstration. He used a real sword to demonstrate Aikido techniques as well as typical Japanese BBQ styles. :)
