Hey, just need a few suggestions from you guys. Does anybody know a good author, or just good books, of asian philosophy, or martial arts in general. I don't want instructional books, or "the history of...". Just some good philosophy books would be nice. Thanks.

Asian philosophy has been a passion of mine since I can remember.

The ever popular "Art of War" by Sun Tzu and "The Lost Art of War" by Sun Bin are both excellently translated by Thomas CLeary.

The "Book of Five Rings" and "Family Traditions on the Art of War" are both very insightful. The "Tao Teh Ching" and "I Ching" have inspired people for centuries.

On an Aikido sight I'm sure someone will recommend the "Art of Peace".

There is one more book I feel that I must add. Even though it isn't technically about philosophy it is a good book to read.

"In Search of the Warrior Spirit" by Richard Strozzi Heckler, is his true story about teaching Green Berets Aikido. This book is very honest about how the Aikido community, and the conventional Army, didn't like the idea.

As a soldier and martial artist (kenpo)I found the book fascinating.
