Excellent!
My first year of aikido or any martial art and I've been blessed with a series of great instructors and dojo-mates
Cheers to 2004!

I passed for my exams for 5th and 4th kyu, so I feel great. Aikido rules!

Looking at the results, it seems that on average, people did very much better than average!
Personally, my year was about average.

It was my second year, and it was good, but I wish I could've practiced more, haven't been able to practice for a few months because of basketball.

2003 was a great year personally for aikido. It marked either my 20th or 21st year in the art (started when I was 21, but can't remember the date); my dojo got up and running (still struggling, but beginning to grow); passed my sandan exam; went to numerous wonderful seminars; met some awesome new people in the art and watched my first students start to grow and change in their aikido (the most fulfilling of all!). Altogether a terrific year, and here's hoping for an even more terrific 2004 (and beyond)!!!
This year was Excellent!,.. I got my shodan!!

2003 was an excellent year for me! It was my first full year of Aikido practice, since I started in October 2002. I started going to class much more often and I'm now up to 5 or 6 classes a week. I took my first test (5th kyu) in July and passed, after a lot of test anxiety and fear! I got to go to seminars in Woodstock, NYC, Montreal, and Toronto (Aikido-l seminar, woo hoo!). I got to practice while visiting my family in Texas, at Aikido of El Paso. I became a moderator on the Women in Aikido bulletin board. I discovered that I also love photographing Aikido.............I learned THAT when I was off the mat due to a knee sprain. Then again, due to an elbow sprain. <grin>
I learned a lot about myself and my body. I met a lot of new friends. I'm beginning to see some improvement in my Aikido.
And I'm having A LOT of fun! Here's to an even-more-fun 2004!

Excellent.
Thanks for asking :D
Training is such great fun. If I didn't like my family so much I'd be in class every day.
Seeing as how like Karen it was my first full year I don't have much to compare it to.
How about New Years resolutions about your training?
I have a small one. I want to try to at least once a month take two classes in a row in a day.
Also I'd like to practice whatever I can when I'm on an off night at home. Weapons, stretching, etc.
Happy New Year!
Kevin.

2003 was great. I decided to rededicate myself to the arts with an emphasis on aikido. I found a great dojo, located some really helpful resources, and most of all found that place within myself to be able to let go of the things that were holding me back. Well maybe not all of them:-)
