I've just ordered a custom Jo from Kingfisher Woodworks, and now I need a carrying case for it. I've seen the many zipper lock, leather and vinyl cases out there, but what I’d really like is something cloth, or silk - more “traditional” (drawstrings maybe) if you will. Something possibly with writing or the option for custom writing on it.

Any recommendations as to where to get one – or at least a good cloth bag?

Thanks in advance!

Dragonfly (http://www.tomreed.com/dragonfly/index.html) makes weapon cases and is listed right here in the Aikiweb Supplies Database. I've never dealt with them but you could check them out.

Kiyota sells an inexpensive cloth bag for carrying a Jo. About $13.

Hi. I'm listed her on Aikiweb, and make and sell cloth bags (my basic is organically grown cotton twill in black for $30). Unfortunately, I don't do machine embroidery, which is probably what you are looking for--it certainly could be added later.

if you don't mind shelling out some big bucks, bujin ( http://www.bujindesign.com/ ) makes some excellent weapons cases. just about everyone in our dojo has one... not because it's the cool thing, but the quality is pretty excellent.

They also will customise if you don't mind paying a few dollars more.

Also, the customer service is great!

I went to Canadian Tire and for a couple of bucks bought a fishing rod case. Looked real snazzy and it must of impressed because next seminar there were a dozen others.

Think you made a mistake Peter. You probably have gone to Japan Tire. Would be very surprised to learn there's a Canadian Tire in Himeji or Osaka!!! ;)

But, anyway, the fishing rod case is a very good idea... Inexpensive and usually very heavy-duty...
