I am new in this page and forum. My name is Shimbad Zurkov, I was born in St. Petesburg, Russia. I am 18 years old. I have been practicing Kung Fu for 11 years, and Tae Kwon Do for 2 years. I dont do Aikido, but I am really interested in this Japanese Martial Art. So I apologize if I say something wrong about Aikido, I am still learning. I am interested in Aikido, but unfortunalely there is not a good Aikido Dojo around here. I am moving to St. Petersburg in three months. I heard in the city there is a good dojo, so I am preparing myself to practice in it. I want to know the philosophy, techniques, language, everything I can learn. Thats why I am here, to learn.:)

Zdravstvui Shimbad!

I was looking for a kung fu, Chinese style of martial art, before I found Aikido. I really wasn't interested in a japanese art, because I thought they were too hard. I didn't know anything about Aikido until I met my current sensei. The energy that he puts into it and the whole Aikido atmosphere really hooked me.

I was really attracted to it because I really don't want to hurt people. Just not in my personality. Good luck and happy hunting in learning about Aikido. Any questions, let us know we'll work it out!
