Do they help alot more than a regular suburi?
Oar Shape Suburi (http://bokkenshop.com/eng/210.html)Um, suburi (fU) is repeated swinging of a sword at an imaginary enemy. Swords intended for suburi are usually referred to as suburito.
Now that that's out of the way, "help a lot more" at what? Personally, my only use for suburito is as a strength/endurance building tool, and it's not terribly useful for that. My lower body tires out more quickly than my upper, as the lower is doing most of the work.
I suppose shape would be important in that it affects overall weight and balance, but again, what do you want to gain from using a suburito?
I was going to put "suburito" but it said "suburi" on the website... sorry

endurance training is about the only thing I use them for

2 guys from our dojo tried them suburito and they had a negative experience.they said it made them muscle more during techniques.
That is their opinion ofcourse.
Better ask your sensei, he knows whats beneficial for you.
