I'm new to the board and fairly new to aikido. I have always refered to the attacker as uke and the "defender" (sounds like a video game ;)) as tori. There seems to be several words floating around that are roughly the same as tori. What might all of the possible synomymns be?

The ones I have heard as "synonymous" to tori would be nage and shite.
