What are your lessons of doing something over 1000 times?

One thousand cuts?

One thousand practice sessions?

Reading one thousand books?

Have posted One thousand times in Aikiweb forums?

Having lurked one thousand times without posting in forums?

Is the rule of ONE THOUSAND just the entry level of what it takes to begin to learn?

....or is it but a reasonable goal in the span of our short lives to have this number as an acceptable amount of repetitions to call yourself as being 'experienced' in having done something in your life ... the time in which it is time to move on to other things?

I've folded about that many cranes, while here at work. Origami keeps my mind busy while I'm not looking at Perl. It also gathers odd stares during meetings.

One Thousand cuts is something I should do. I should pick up a bokken to practice out of the dojo, daily. I still have a lot of "wobble".

To me the lesson of a thousand cuts is 'One cut'...
