My son and I practiced yesterday in the snow. Ukemi is very easy in the snow! ;)

Just be careful that snow can mask dangerous objects underneath, especially if the snow isn't packed yet.

I remember a few years back in Indianapolis, I saw a nice snow bank outside our training area so I did a breakfall into it in street clothes. All I could hope for, though, while in the air was, "I hope I don't land on a sprinkler head."

I landed OK, although I did get snow in my clothes...

I can't figure out why my ukemi never works when I fall while skiing. The 15 inches Jay Peak picked up Saturday was the perfect place to try it. Also odd, I get too low while telemarking, and don't get low enough while doing Aikido. Oh well.

Yeah, watch out for rocks...I know from experience how painful landing your head on a rock can be...
