I would very much appreciate if anyone can direct me to a place that I might order a new gi. I heard there is a company that has female sizes available. My current gi is the worse for wear after three years of helping my sensei demo many throws while training! I have re-sewn the waist band on my pants a half-dozen times and I can no longer mend the frayed appearance of the collar on my uwagi! I am quite attached to my current gi---it has a nice, comfortable fit, but, I do not want to represent my dojo with a worn gi.
Thank you for you help!

Bujin makes a gi top tailored for women in a drillcloth type cotton. Link off aikiweb's supplies database.
I'm in the process of proofing my own pattern for women gi top for women who do not quite fit into Bujin's standard, but for most women I think their gi top is excellent.

My Bujin gi just came today, and I tried it on the mat at tonight's class. I absolutely love it. It's quite a bit lighter than I like, but it does, as advertised, stay closed, something none of my others do. They're a great(albeit expensive :disgust: ) choice.

on the talk of gi, just an interesting observation:
do you find that when you begin you can just never stay tidy, you always have to tidy your gi in class and bits fall out and it half comes off etc etc..... and then as time passes you just seem to not get so messy, in some way your gi just stays tidy.
what would that be attributed that to?

I've noticed this, too. My guess is that as our ukemi improves, we take falls more "neatly".
