Hi guys, another thing: I'm watching some photos of Aikido senseis and students; I see many skinny guys, and I wonder: what about their stability? Am I confused by budha or don't you need a good round shape for Aikido or what? I have to admit that things like this make me a little doubtful about Aikido..

Hello. You might want to know that the fat Buddha is a gross misinterpretation of Siddhartha Guatama, the historical Buddha. The Buddha was known to fast and fast, and to beg for his food as any astetic would. He didn't eat much. So think of him as you would in the Western image of Jesus. Jesus was a brown person. With brown hair and brown eyes...looked more like a Middle Eastern person because guess what? He was!

Stop making assumptions and read the thread entitled, "What about fat men?" This thread was a JOKE, to illustrate the silliness of the other thread.... Get it ?

I'm aware of the other thread, however usually parody threads are meant to be funny, so it was difficult to recognize your as such.

But yes, I agree that the mere existence of the "What about fat men" thread is pretty funny.

What abt circus midgets? Can they practice aikido - they're short, small AND skinny. Plus they pretty much know ukemi. Surely a winning recipie?

But I do find it so distracting when they wear that damn circus clown make-up on the mat. It makes it harder to clean my gi's.
