Hey, it's me again. You know; the guy who has never actually taken Aikido. (Don't worry, I'm still working on it. I've just gotta get some money together for training).
Here's the thing. The college I go to has just started up a karate club, so of course, thinking "free MA", I decided to join (any MA is better than none IMO :) ) According to the sign up sheet, we'll be learning something called "Washin-ryu" karate-do. I just wanted to find out if anyone here knows anything about it. Is it like any other generic style of karate (you know; kick, punch, block, etc.), or there anything unique about it? Does it have more grappling, locks, throws, whatever? (I heard something about a funny stance (pigeon toed?), is there anything more to that?) Also, do you think that there would be any compatibility issues with Aikido? (again, I do intend to take it someday :) ) Would one complement the other?
Any information at all would be great.
Thanks alot :)

You should go and see for yourself what they have, probably is a fake, probably is a efective and smart sintesis?.
Yes there are many similarities
but forget about to train all the time in a retarded motion as in Aikido, welcome to reality they will say to you, once techniques are learned the practice goes in real time.
