Hi there,

I don't know how many of you are fans of the cable TV show Farscape, but it has recently and unexpectedly been cancelled. I'm just trying to spread the word. To help in the general protest information can be found here: http://farscape.wdsection.com/

Thanks!

Chris

Arg! Not this one too! They just canceled the Invisible Man for no discernible reason, too. I don't understand the Scifi Channel. Farscape has great ratings and won the Saturn Award! What do they want!? *Stomping and grinding her teeth, mumbling obscenities under her breath* :grr:

Sarah

*In ... Out ... In ... Out* Sigh ... I'm better now ;)

It's a conspiracy. Really. We're hoping another network will pick Farscape up and people are petitioning for that to happen. Basically Scifi has been planning to screw Farscape over for a while now. They brought SG1 over into Farscape's time slot to try and decrease FS's ratings so that they could have a reason to cancel it. It backfired; SG1 fans started watching Farscape, incresing the ratings higher than before. The press releases Scifi has put up are all crap. Again, http://farscape.wdsection.com for updates and contact info.

Oh well looks like farscapes gone for good, the set has been officialy destroyed now i beleive, tis a shame cause the american networks are so fickle look at space above and beyond... look at Brimstone, First wave etc... what about B5 crusade? damn they didnt finish the first series, and yet things like Mutant-X get mega funding and are full of bad acting and bad effects!, what on earth are the networks coming too?

gimme reruns of V and blakes 7 any day.. Dr Who here we come...

I'm a huge sci-fi fan, but far scape was something I could never seem to get away with.

I thought the story lines and episodes were very well written. They had some great ideas, so hopefully the writers will go onto big things... I could put up with the Henson workshop characters aswell, they were ok... I just didn't like the acting so I couldn't bring myself to watch it.

Its a real shame its been cancelled though. More sci-fi!!

uh, well, although I'm also a SciFi fan, I too never thought Farscape to be particularly outstanding. So, RIP....

Gotta say, lost interest in the latest farscape, but thought it was good and didn't deserve being dropped - please tell me there's no plans to do the same for Andromeda (real fan of hercules in space - just love corn)

Farscape back in 2003, at least it is being advertised as new episodes for 2003.

How weird can special effects get before the effects overcome the storyline?

Science Fiction? Yep, that's what you get for reading Asimov and Heinlein in the 1960s, addicctied to Sci-fi.

there are 11 more episodes left to air in 2003, then no more.

Actors need other roles to grow too.

Let 'em go. Let the talent grow.

I met John DeLancie (Q on star trek next generation) and he was telling me about his new upcoming roles on StarGate, but he was more excited about the opportunity to get back on the stage. It seems, being cast as a character takes a lot of leg work to break peoples image of you as one particular kind of character.

It really is poor when a successful role ends and there are limited offers on the table to use your talents in other productions.

I have favorite actors I follow because one of more performances have piqued my interest for one reason or another. Sometimes that one performance is the the reason an actor get recognition, and sometimes it is also the reason that their career ends in obscurity.

Let Farscape go. Enjoy what is past and watch the opportunitys presented in the future.

I would have no problem letting it go, if Scifi had given the writers etc. enough warning about the cancellation to allow them to end the series decently. The creater (name slips my mind right now... David something?) knew how he wanted the series to wrap up when the end came.

Sarah, who has heard rumblings about a movie, but can't see how it would work, since most people wouldn't have followed the story for, what was it? four seasons? and have no idea what was going on...

Agreed. It was an odd money decision for Scifi to make, as it was one of their most popular shows. If I can get some resolution on it I'd be fine. Let the story end.
