Hello and thank you for allowing me to join your wonderful site.

My name is Bernie, I'm from the UK near aylesbury, I'm hoping to return to Aikido after a long break. I've been out for about 10 yrs, due to work and injury.
I'm hoping to get advice on the best way to return, daft question i know !!!!! just turn up...:)
I left a 3rd dan, i was from independent background, although i was trained by an aikikai instructor, i graded by an independent instructors (instructor taught at the club)
i would like to get into the aikikai side of aikido if possible.

any advice on returning would be gratefully received

many thanks
Bernie

Hello,

I trained in the UK for ten years before coming to live here in 1980. This was well before your time, but I suggest you send me a private mail with some more details and I can perhaps give you more specific advice.

Best wishes,

P A Goldsbury

Hi Bernie

there are a fee Aikikai dojo near you (don't know how far you wish to travel) but here's three I would recommend

... and Antony Pinchbeck's dojo (http://www.kamo.org.uk), also in Aylesbury. Not Aikikai affiliated, but Tony is a student of Seishiro Endo Sensei.

Give your body a chance to acclimate. Take your time working you way back in.
