Case for Bokken, Jo & Tanto

Hi!

I´m looking for a case for three items, Bokken, Jo and Tanto. I´m trying to find a case in a japanses style that I can order through the internet. I have allready found a lot of cases on the internet in "western style" but I would like to find a case that are handmade and realy look japanese. If they also can deliver a aikidobag in the same style I will be very happy. Hope someone can help me or perhaps help me with a contact with a japanese who can buy it for me.

I'd say your best bet would be to check outTozando (http://www.tozando.com/eng/index.html).

You have to pay more for shipping because they are located in Japan but it'ss worth it. My hakama I purchased from them is fantastic. I mean, they supply hakama to the Aikikai Hombu so their stuff is definitely high quality.

As far as bags go, I'd say look under the Kendo or Iaido section. Best of luck.

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but here is my 2 yen worth. The Japanese don't generally carry their wooden buki around in my experience. Mostly they keep them in the dojo. When they do carry them, it's generally in what you would probably call a "western" style bag, though I assure, the ones on my site at http://budogu.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page12.html are all made in Japan, and they are what the Japanese use. I don't think I've ever seen a handmade carrying case in Japan, though I have seen some beautiful bags for storing shinken in, these aren't for carrying though. For really nice handmade stuff, I'd recommend going to Janet Rosen at Zanshin Art.
