I have been training in Kung Fu for over thirty years. And I promised myself if I had the time and money I would train in Aikido. I retired from the police dept in May of 2011. At the gym I was working out of here a Aikido School move in at the start of this year 2016. So at 68 years old I started to train. What I always liked about Aikido was you were able to do the full moves. Kung Fu does have many of the moves that Aikido has. The kicking and punches you would not hit your training partner. For if you did you would run out training partner and you yourself. Doing the falls I am not to wild about but that is part of the training. So far I am having a good time...

Afternoon: I had a stroke long after aikido. My Shihan can to learn where I was. (I was in the hospital for a full month) I got several useful exercise right away then I was able to do aikido and jo in less than two more months. (Sword took longer because I could not use my right hand and two left fingers.) Aikido movement got my better than ever. Now I do "qi gong" morning and lunch the aikido/jo/iai/bokken at least four days each week. Enjoy and work.
