I have experience in kickboxing(competed as an amateur) and hold 2nd dan in a hybrid of fukemjuboka/isshinryu/bando. I'm looking to make a 180 and try aikido. I have done a lot research and am looking for a school in or near Reading/Allentown or within 40 miles of Fleetwood, PA. I've called several schools, visited numerous websites, even visited some schools and would greatly appreciate any referrals that could help me in making my decision. There's a lot to be said for word of mouth from someone practicing the art.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Mark. Aikido center of Lancaster is 35 miles away from Reading. I'm a member of aikido centers of nj and this is one of the schools of Sensei Greg OConnor. Christian Recknagel is a Nidan and the main instructor. Check them out.

I recommend visiting Bucks County Aikido in Doylestown PA. Excellent school, can't say enough good about the senseis and students.

There is an aikido dojo in York, PA. Doesn't look to be too far (20 miles?). The instructor, Keith Engle, is a member here. I met him once, and he is an awesome guy.
