Ellis Amdur Seminar at Seiya Dojo in Arnold, MD 7/17/15 & 7/19/15

Seiya Dojo is very excited to announce that we will hosting Ellis Amdur Sensei (www.edgework.info) for a seminar on July 17th and 19th of 2015. We are located in Arnold, MD just outside of Annapolis.

While not a member of Taikyoku Budo, Amdur Sensei is one of the main inspirations behind our study.

Amdur's Taikyoku Kuzushi (Essential Principles for Unbalancing and Opponent), five themes of movement, force vectors, based around aikido's ikkyo-gokkyo are the foundational 'container' for our study, expressed through jujutsu (body-to-body grappling), aikido (arms-length grappling), and kempo (striking). The Taikyoku Kuzushi are also a container for our 'internal strength' practice, so that our practice is one integrated whole around a few simple, yet effective, ideas.

A small martially-diverse group, we welcome all practitioners from all arts. The seminar information is as follows:

In cooperation with Seiya Dojo, Ellis will also teach an empty-hand class at Aikido of Northern Virginia on Saturday morning, July 18. Class will meet from 9:30 to 11:30. The cost is $20, payable at the door. It is not necessary to register in advance.
