One of my sensei is interested in developing a curriculum for use in teaching Aikido to blind kids; she's not online much, so I said I would ask here if anyone had any experiences or insights that they would be willing to share?

Thanks in advance!

Erik, I don't teach anyone who's blind, but I AM one.

Legally, anyway. That whole shapes and shades thing. Level III blind judo competitor according to the IJF, all that.

PM me and I can get you an email address if that'd be helpful.

This may be of interes;, my sensei does some self defence work with the guide dogs association, here is an article talking about what they do:

You might get in touch with Aikido of Monterey. They had a blind student when I visited there; he would be fairly senior by now if he's still training.
