Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I have just published a short documentary (http://www.guillaumeerard.com/aikido/videos/documentary-on-okamoto-yoko-shihan-and-aikido-kyoto) shot at Aikido Kyoto, the dojo established by Okamoto Yoko Shihan, 6th Dan Aikikai. I hope that you like it!

As stated above, here is Guillaume Erard's documentary on Yoko Okamoto sensei (6th dan, Aikido Kyoto).

From her website: "Started Aikido at Aikikai Honbu Dojo; the world headquarter in 1977 with late Doshu Kissyomaru Ueshiba, then continued in France (1979-1981) with Christian Tissier Shihan. Upon returning to Japan, continued training with shihans in Honbu dojo following mainly late Seigo Yamaguchi Shihan, and I. Shibata Shihan (Current Berkeley Aikikai Dojo-cho). Established Portland Aikikai in Portland Oregon, in 1991, assumed a role of dojo-cho (chief instructor) until her return to Japan in 2003. Started Aikido Kyoto in 2003 for development of Aikido in Japanese and international community in Kyoto. She currently holds the rank of 6th dan."

Brilliant short film - Sensei Yoko speaks elegantly about her dojo and her inspirations. Extremely inspiring, would one day love to train with her.

She just taught at Birankai summer camp, and wow, were we lucky to have her!

Very nicely done. It says the music is yours too. Nice.

One of my English students also made a very short video on the same subject:

And he's done a nice video of Kyoto as well:

And of course, I have to take this opportunity to plug my dojo, Mugenjuku, which is in roughly the same area... come take a taiken lesson!
