Allen Beebe sensei will be teaching a seminar during the second weekend of July in Zwolle, the Netherlands (12 and 13 July).
We would like to invite you to attend these training sessions.
Allen was a student of the late Shirata Rinjiro, one of the famous names of early aikido. In these sessions Allen will be covering, among others, the core basis of Shirata sensei's teachings—the building blocks which make the techniques of Aikido possible. These teachings are among others Tan Doku Dosa, Kokyu Ryoku no Yosei Ho, Aiki Ken and Aiki Jo.
These solo exercises containing almost all of the movements necessary for aikido and organized so that, when performed regularly, one can train the core body elements necessary to produce aiki.
For the past four years Allen has been training on a regular basis with Dan Harden who has presented renewed insight on the topics of internal power and aiki. It is Dan's wish to bring back internal power and aiki into the Aikido community.
This seminar with Allen will be generally informal and interactive. There will be ample opportunity for questions and answers throughout. For this reason we would ask that you wear normal exercise clothing or other loose comfortable attire. Please bring jo and bokken.
The training takes on Saturday 12 July 2014 (09:30-12:00h and 14:00- 16:30h) and Sunday 13 July 2014 (09:30-12:00h and 14:00- 16:30h).
Our dojo:

Dear All,
Has Dan Harden been cloned? This seminar seems to be less of Aikido and more of I/P.Even down to wearing the tee shirts/track suit gear. What no hakamas?Oh , how disappointed I would be turning for a ball in my fancy duds and find I am overdressed if I attended this event.
Cheers, Joe

No "fancy dress" required so that our "non-aikido" friends can feel as comfortable and welcome attending the as the Aikido Gokyu through Shihan. All have attended in the past, all are welcome, all appear the same without "fancy dress," and all are equal as students of Aiki. The seminar is decidedly Aikido as it is the Way of Aiki (and, yes, consequently IP too). Aiki is the focus of the seminar (as opposed to waza). And Aiki is taught in the context of exercises taught to Allen Beebe by the late Shirata Rinjiro Aikido 10th Dan, one of the earliest and most dedicated students of Ueshiba Morihei.
Lack of uniforms do not make Mr. Beebe a clone of Dan Harden any more than the presence of uniforms would make Mr. Beebe a clone of Shirata Rinjiro. Clothing does not "make the man."
Thank you for your spirited post and interest. Numbers of attendees are purposefully kept low in order to provide everyone with as much hands on time as possible. As we get to the seminar fewer spots are available with return attendees forming the majority. Please contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Of course, it's well known that for a fashionable Englishman, if he can't wear the proper outfit he might as well not go. :) Promise Joe tea and crumpets and maybe he'll make it across the water. :p Wish I could go, I haven't gotten on the mat with Allen in way too long.

We just finished a great seminar.
Allen gave us loads of basics and details on how to achieve aiki by means of Shirata Sensei's exercises (Tan Doku Dosa, Kokyu Ryoku no Yosei Ho and Aiki Ken).
Allen will be back next year :)
