From a friend's sign on their physics lab.
Theory is when you know everything but nothing works.
Practice is when everything works but no one knows why.
In our lab, theory and practice are combined: Nothing works and no one knows why.
Just seemed relevant to recent discussions... :)

F'ing AWESOME! I assume your friend does not mind if we use that slogan (with proper attribution to the source of course!).

Feel free, it looks like one of those "we have no idea who made it up" deals...

that was really good.
I'd only ever heard this one:
Albert Einstein - "In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not."

About this to rile a few people up:
"Aikido is when you know everything, but nothing works
Aiki is when everything works, but only you know why
In our dojo, Aikido and Aiki are combined, and only we know why"
Now that is more relevant to some recent discussions :D

"The Art of Peace functions everywhere on earth, in realms ranging from the vastness of space down to the tiniest plants and animals. The life force is all pervasive and it's strength boundless.
The Art of Peace allows us to perceive and tap into that tremendous reserve of universal energy".

Everything works. I don't know why.
