Kato Sensei has been in Aikido for 57 years and is amongst the last generation of people who had direct contact with the Founder. He was a soto deshi who maintained an ordinary life whilst training serially at every opportunity. He is a deeply humble man with a great heart, his Aikido is both gentle and fierce, and he has been a great inspiration to many people throughout the world.
