Dear all

I have seen a lot of youtube clips from the All Japan Aikido Demonstrations from the past years. It could be fun going to one of those.

Now... I haven't been able to find out when and where it will be the next time, until I saw clips from the 49th demonstration on youtube AND found this link: http://www.aikikai.or.jp/eng/index.htm where it says that practice will be suspended after 9 am due to the demo on may 26th.

Does this mean, that in 2012 it will be the 50th. all japan Aikido demonstration, and that it will be on the 26th?

Does anybody know if it's possible to get in for such an event, what type of ticket price I should expect - and where it would be held?

Sincerely

JJ

I don't see anything related to the All Japan embu on that page. If you are thinking it is going to be held at hombu, you are probably wrong.

I went to the one in 2004. It was at the Budokan, and there was no admission charge.

Hi JJ,

It's always the last Saturday in May. Admission is free. It's a great event to attend, and even better if you are with a dojo that is demonstrating. I've been lucky enough to go a few times now.

Thank's all..

Yeah.. I realise the page dosen't give you deep-links, so Peter is right.. click 'Annual Events' and there it is.

Very helpful info. Now if I could only mannage to free a week in my calendar and find around 1200 $.. I wonder if they are going to do something ekstra this year - since it's the 50th.

See you all

The All Japan is a sight to see - but it's kind of a circus, and a lot of it (it's very long) is pretty mind numbingly boring.

Would be better with beer...;)

Best,

Chris

I second that. A beer would be nice.

The synchronized aikido from the women's university is pretty entertaining though. Then there is the guy who just pokes his fingers at people and they all fall down. Good for a laugh :)
