I just came across this video... seems quite interesting.
Whats your thoughts? Parlour trick or is there some serious perception going on here that allows him to do this?

I wonder if this is on the first attempt.

The gunman and the swordsman could practise together to have the gunman aim right at the area where the swordsman will slash. But looks impressive nonetheless :)

No matter how this is achieved, the fact that he can stand in the path of a projectile and draw a katana with such controlled speed means that he has confronted three of the four core weapons principles;
kyo - surprise
gi - doubt
ku - fear
I had seen the entire film last year and am n less inspired now than then.

how is it a surprise? the other guy stood there, in front of him, took careful aim and fired. what is so surprise about that? it's not like the other guy sneaking up behind him and shoot him in the rear-end or the woman shown him her naked chest at the same time the guy fired the pellet gun or ... :D

Ed, he's not in the path of a projectile.

It's either a pellet, or a bb, btw. Not a bb gun pellet.

That's so phony its pathetic. That toy gun shoots out a little pellet, that's already slowing down so much when it gets to our hero, that it hits the bottom of the katana when he draws it. He certainly doesn't cut the pellet in two, as they seem to be claiming.
Besides, he doesn't seem to be taught in iaido, the 'fastest draw in the east', because the better iaidokas learn the 'double hip switch' to get their sword out with maximum power and speed, this guy doesn't even do that much. Probably someone who bought all the gear, and then declared himself a master swordsman
