a bit impressed too by the quality of contributions..
hope I could soon inform the aikiweb comunity of what s going on in aiki in this small part of the planet which happen to be m y beloved country . Morrocco first welkomed Aikido in the earley sixties . We are privileged by the presence of the first practitioner : Master Alaoui Mbarek. : something of a national pride ! and still going on since 1964!. Our practice ows a lot to Sensei Tamura Shihan -(died in 2010). There are nos accurate data as to the number of practitioners : a reasonable guess would be approximat 10.000. There are about 180 clubs and one federation gathering 30 % of these clubs. As every where in the world the aikido tends to split in deferent "schools" (Aiki jutysu, aiki budo , Daito Ryu , Yoshinkan..) and another half a dozen in the hatch beside the traditional majority around Sensei Mbarek Alaoui .
