Graham I don't think so;).
Pauliina you look very nice:D .
Tim you are very helpful, as you just showed in another thread:)
And I'm very curious about peoples motives.
The other day coming from the beach I had a nice experience that made me think of this topic. There were four 18-20 year old german girls and without knowing that I would understand them, they said: she looks nice and asked me to take a photo of them. So did you ever think about how people see you?

you sweettalker you :o

To be completely honest, over the past months I have had some in-depth talks on this subject at work. A new guy interpreted things quit different than I intended and created a completely wrong 'image' of me. It made me think ;)
The essence was that it was not caused by what I said, but how. I tend to be quit forward, which not all people (seem to) appreciate.
In the end I guess it is allowing eachother some room to get to know eachother.
Participating in forum discussions is perhaps even harder. Even more so when trying to communicate in a different language. Some people easily read into typed words want they want to read without (at least trying to) understand the intention of the poster. And thus, I have had my encounters on the fora too :D

So perhaps I am not as WYSIWYG as I would like:D

Yes. I find it quite funny. Firstly I would say worrying about it is what leads to vanity. So to not care what people think about me or why is rule number one.

Secondly then I have rule number two so to speak which is to always treat others with respect, be helpful, receive with love, and grant them the right to be.

Thirdly I acknowledge that most people are into image and so they see an image and put you in a box. Shallow but amusing.

It's a good topic really because all the great con men have a great image and thus people are led by it because that's what they 'think' with.

I try to be respectful, helpful and brief and I think I am, mostly.

I'd like to be more positive, interesting and amusing, but I'm afraid that is much harder for me.

Yes Tim it is difficult to write in a forum in a different language, but a good exercise, I improved a lot, at the beginning I had to look in the translator for every second word. But now I write more fluid, but I'm sure that I'm making a lot of mistakes, the main thing is that people understand what I'm trying to say.

Thanks Graham I really don't care, and that is what our teacher is telling us many times, just to be ourselves, our friends and family will appreciate us like that and the others doesn't matter.
Another thing is the "dan-sickness" and I'm happy that my teacher doesn't suffer of that disease;)

Thanks William, helpful is good, and I think the people who are close to you will understand your sarcastic nature.

Thanks Dave, you sure have many interesting things to tell, about beeing amusing for me it is easy with people I like, and try always to be positive, the glass is half full;)

Hi Carina, thanks for being positive about my stories! :)) Some of the other people like them too, but I think some people might have an uncontrollable urge to yawn, like the picture, and may even fall asleep at their computer trying to read my stories, like the picture below it;)

I'd like to add, that it's very nice that so many people on AikiWeb are eager to add helpful advice and information in response to questions people post ....:) I've learned a lot from them in only about half a year since I joined.

I try to be brief and respectful. It is painfully obvious many of us will disagree from time to time but, it makes no sense to scream and yell at someone because they criticized your post.

I like to lurk a lot of the time and only post something when I think I am contributing something valuable. I've lost count of the posts I've written and discarded.

When in doubt, throw it out!
