Hi, My name is Ryan and I am 29. Father of 5 wonderful children. I work at the gym in a rehab center which gives me some time to keep in shape. I've been studying Aikido for about 8 months now and love books on Aikido (theory stuff, not practical techniques or anything. So .... Hello.

Hello Ryan, I'll assume you like doing aikido for health, mental or otherwise, unless you say otherwise........:)
I did it the other way round, practical for the first 20 years now all the "theory". My first book on aikido was Gozo Shioda's Dynamic Aikido. I got that at shodan 4 years later.
A lot of theory doesn't always add up, go by your gut instinct, it's better.....
I still prefer the practical and will keep doing so until my body tells me to do otherwise... then I will be old enough for the theory.....:D
But enjoy yourself, train hard and you'll reap the benefits later on...
