Hi

Am looking for a lightweight aikido uwagi for the summer as an alternative to a karate one. Not keen on the 9 Circles cut...any recommendations for alternatives? Liked the look of the Minamoto through Budo-aoi, but didn't fancy paying $130 dollars in shipping.....

Cheers

Have you considered Aikido 24?

They may have what you are looking for.

Looks very similar to the 9 Circles one. Am really looking for something a bit more summer-friendly. But thanks!

No problem. Hope you find what you are looking for.

My first gi was a very light weight students katate gi made by Tokon. Definitely summer friendly and it held up pretty well for being a cheap gi. But I don't know if they can be purchased in the UK.

A lot of people like their gi's. They can cost a bit of money, but most people claim that it is well worth it. They have about four gi's that are considered either lightweight or for summer. Their seersucker is probably their most popular one if you are looking for a light weight gi that dries really quickly.

Have a summer gi from Tozando. I love it. Check them out.

I have on of these. Recommended if you're looking for a light jacket that feels better than the average karate-gi.

Tozando shipping fees are steep, so if you can get as many items as possible per shipment.
