hi
i wouls like to start taking aikido, in/around sf. ca.
i fully plan on visiting the dojos in my area before i join, but i was wondering if anyone would be open to sharing their experience with the local dojos? I know they will all have their own individual character, and sometimes i find it hard to really get a feel for a place after one or two visits. thanks...tommy

I can't say enough good things about Hans Goto Sensei's Bay Marin Aikido in San Rafael.

Very technical but very easy going.

I'm still bumming about missing my yearly pilgrimage due to the 9/11.

Hi, and welcome to the incredibly rich world of Bay Area aikido!!!

Over the yrs I've trained at a number of local dojo, as member or as visitor. There are many EXCELLENT places, but the "flavor" varies, and different folks learn better in different environments.

Iif you have specific questions about places efore or after you visit them, feel free to email me (janet@zanshinart.com)
