I'd bet its a very ancient technique (http://www.harveyabramsbooks.com/pankratiast1.jpg) which can be found in a lot of wrestling methods all around the world

Get the terms correct.
Sankyu is a rank (3rd Kyu) http://www.aikiweb.com/language/ranks_k.html
Sankyo or Sankajo is the technique: http://www.aikiweb.com/techniques/throws.html
