There will be a seminar on aikido and psychotherapy (http://culturesmith.com/wagn/ITP_Aikido_and_Psychotherapy_Seminar_20101107) at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA on November 7th, 2010.
From the web page: "Practice Aikido techniques that are focused on developing therapeutic presence, staying centered when challenged, and blending empathically with clients. A special low impact section will create an ideal introduction for non Aikidoists. Aikido is a mind-body-spirit practice that can be applied by psychotherapists both with clients and for self-care. Therapists have recognized the importance of being fully present in therapy."

Thanks, Jun, for sharing this information. It is of great interest to me in my personal life and for my professional life as a physical therapist specializing in CranioSacral Therapy. I was, in fact, first introduced to Aikido in a similar form a few years ago .... in a book entitled "Anatomy of Change" by Richard Heckler. Again, many thanks.
Sincerely,
Ellen Yauk
