Passing along some info:

Jacques Payet Shihan (7th dan) will be teaching at Aikido of Del Mar (http://aikidodelmar.com) September 20, 21 and 22, 2010. Payet Sensei lives and teaches Aikido in Kyoto, Japan. In addition, he directs the Senshusei course at Honbu dojo in Tokyo. You can get more information about him from his website: http://www.aikidomugenjuku.com/english/index.html

Classes will be held from 7pm to 9pm each day of his visit. We encourage all students to attend as many of the classes as possible. $30/class.

Payet Sensei in Los Angeles:

Before coming to San Diego, Sensei will be teaching in Studio City (northeastern Los Angeles- http://www.losangelesaikido.com) on September 17, 18 and 19. The training schedule is:

Friday-1pm-3
Saturday 2pm-6 (last 60-90 minutes dan testing)
Sunday 10am-1pm

Cost per day is $40 or $100 for all three days.

Thanks for the announcement Anthony. Won't be able to travel out for the seminar, but I envy your training opportunity!

Please ask Payet Sensei to visit us out here on the East Coast.

For those not familiar with the man, he served Gozo Shioda as uchideshi longer than any other non-Japanese. Many say that his aikido is reminiscent of Shioda's.

What a great opportunity for anyone able to get to the San Diego/LA area.

I second that...if, in the future, he travels to somewhere in the East or Midwest I'll definitely try to attend. We just had a great seminar with Hitashi Nakano Shihan the other week...its always special to have an instructor come over from Japan. I highly recommend all who can make it take advantage of this rare opportunity. Have a great time!

Confirmed with my teacher, he is only in socal this visit.

He has personal relations with both dojos.
