Obviously, to stir shit. Wasn't it obvious?

I have and do know people from Israel who offer a decidedly different view of what it's like to live there and also be an Israeli international, then what I see on BBC, CNN and FOX. There really is a thing called "manufactured news coverage" that is shear fraud. I have personally seen it unfold before my eyes. "Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story."
So while both sides feel they don't have a voice that is well represented, a group of press related Israeli people picked an interesting venue to "represent" their own frustrations.

I think it's; over the top, sad, spiteful, inflammatory, spot on, ....and hilarious!
Of the several links showing the same video it is interesting to see the commentary on the bottom; strong support to total condemnation.

Along the same lines:

Not a story I could find in the MSM, BTW.

I find it bizarre that the same bloggers who complained about cropped Reuters photos said nothing about the fact that the only video circulating from the episode are edited snippets selectively released from confiscated cameras by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).

The "We Con the World" video struck me as extremely mean spirited and utterly tasteless in light of the deaths that occured. I don't think anyone would tolerate a video from the opposite perspective featuring people dressed in Jewish garb making fun of their casualties. I thought that stuff went out with the minstrel show...

There's quite enough spitefulness in the world, Dan. It's not a praiseworthy attitude.

If you can point to some URL's of other videos, etc., that highlight information that is being misrepresented, please do so. So far, the responses seem to hint at personal failings of the posters rather than the issue of misrepresented coverage.

What was the point in posting this?

That's a bit like asking why Henry Ford sponsored a printing of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

The answer is precisely the same as well: it is a conscious effort to spread lies, bigotry and hatred.

(Cue the utterly clueless/disingenuous "c'mon guys, don't be so serious, it was just a joke" defense.)

I would respectfully request that Jun not merely close, but remove the thread, and also give the offending party an extended time-out.

Beyond that, I have no further comment.

I find that interesting Fred.
The open discussion forum is for political discussions.
This appeared on CNN (a public venue)
The Israeli government denied it's involvement or support.
The people on the boat denied having weapons which appear in the video.
I find it all interesting.
As I said while the song is over the top and spiteful, it also appears to be spot on and funny as well. It is clear both parties feel they are not represented accurately and both claim fraud in this event.

Overal these guys make a video to lampoon what they claim are not only lies but media supported and manufactured lies. Reuters admits to cropping the photo with a very ket wepaons deleted. Sixty minutes covered the filming of a fake attack done by Hamas (the fake attack supposedly done by the Israeli's) so that appears accurate as well.
I think a lampoon of their frustration is a better method of protest than videos of cutting peoples heads off on Aljaseera.

Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them a racist. In fact you're name calling. You are implying that Dan is a racist bigot - never met Dan btw. You're further implying that anyone that disagrees with you is a racist bigot. That is horrible. It's analogous to someone calling Obama an socialist muslim, and the only reason someone would vote for him is because they hate American, ad nausea. Isn't this a discussion board. Discuss. If you censor something because one group disagrees with it you pretty much have given up on freedom.

I do not see this discussion going anywhere constructive.
