Hello! My name is Elly and I've been studying yoshinkan aikido for 3 years now, and am currently 3rd kyu.

I had been interested to study a martial art for a long time but had never got around to finding somewhere. I then completely lucked out as my fantastic teacher, Peter Koussoulis Sensei (4th dan) at Melbourne Aikido decided to open a new dojo around the corner from my house.

I completely love it. My first year was a little strange as I fell pregnant with my second child after a few months but I kept training until I was just over 7 months pregnant (and it got too hard to get up and down off the mats, let alone tie my belt!:p ). Since then, aikido has been a welcome respite from the craziness of parenting!

Looking forward to getting to know you all and having some good conversations on aikiweb!
