For bokken, shoto, and tanto, my new personal favorite is www.bethsbuki.com. Beautifully crafted weapons from carefully selected woods, with exquisite shape and balance. I particularly recommend Beth's work to anyone who has a need for copies of a specific bokken that can no longer be acquired from the original supplier. This is not a high-volume manufacturing operation, so there is waiting time involved for most orders, but my experience thus far -- primarily with naginata -- is that the buki are well worth the wait, a conclusion I reached after comparing her work with previous acquisitions from every other North American supplier of same.

S&P isn't bad. Our dojo orders some stuff from them. I do have to say that their gi are somewhat inconsistent in quality though. You can buy two gi at the same time and one is thinner then the other and one may last for a while and one wears out quickly....

I did end up ordering the seersucker gi from Budo sakigake in a size 5. I haven't got it yet...supposed to ship this week. I'll let you know how it works out.

No I haven't. I was going to give them a try, even though I really like Tozando, but with the dollar not being worth anything, the cost of S & H makes the expense too pricey. I'm due for an hakama soon, so I am going to drive down to the Kyoto Store in Baltimore and get one from there. It's not a long drive for me and much cheaper than paying shipping cost. I may finally try out an Iwata hakama.
