I'm in need of a new jo, and since it's been over fifteen years since I bought my last one, I need a new supplier. I'm looking for white oak, 1" diameter, nothing fancy. Any recommendations?

I've had good luck with their hickory weapons but they offer white oak as well. Handcrafted in Canada and reasonably priced.

Scroll to the bottom of the link for the jo:

Kingfisher has a good reputation of making some fine jo - from Appalachian hickory. http://kingfisherwoodworks.com/
I don't have one of theirs specifically, but have found hickory to have a good feel to it - with a very slight flex/spring on contact in paired practice.
This may be sacrilegious to some, but my thick white oak jo from Tozando has more dents and micro-splinters (and yes, it is well sanded and gooped before using and many times since).

Beautiful stuff but I think they are exclusively made of hickory.

Ah, good point. Sorry.
