On the weekend of April 30, 2010, the Azamikan Dojo (http://www.azami.us) in Frankfort, Indiana, will host the 2010 Zen Nihon Budo Renmei (http://www.alljapanbudofederation.com) (All Japan Budo Federation) U.S.A. Branch Spring Budosai. This event will be held in conjunction with the Sekai Dentokan Bugei Renmei (http://www.dentokanhombu.com).

The Spring Budosai will begin on Friday evening, 4/30/10, and all day Saturday, 5/1/10. Friday evening training is restricted to current Dentokan and ZNBR students only and will include instruction and testing for qualified members. Training on Saturday, however, is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend, regardless of affiliation or experience!

Saturday's open session will offer two-hour classes in the following arts:

8:30 a.m., Jujutsu (i.e. Dentokan Hakko-ryu; Col. Roy Hobbs, Hanshi)
10:45 a.m., Iaido and Kenjutsu (Andrew Bryant, Renshi)
12:45 p.m., Lunch Break
1:45 p.m., Shorin-ryu Karatedo (Col. Roy Hobbs, Hanshi)
4:00 p.m., Ryukyu Kobujutsu (Col. Roy Hobbs, Hanshi)

[Note: Of particular interest to Aikidoka is the Jujutsu seminar which will cover aspects of Hakko-ryu Jujutsu. Hakko-ryu is a sister art of Aikido and its founder (Okuyama Ryuho) held similar philisophical views as O'Sensei.]

The venue is:

Clinton County YMCA
950 S. Maish Rd.
Frankfort, IN 46041
Phone: (765) 654-YMCA

Attendees may sign up for individual sessions for $30.00 each ($35.00 after 4/18) or for the entire event for $100.00 ($115.00 after 4/18). Equipment will be provided for those who do not have their own, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own equipment if possible so as to facilitate availability for all involved. Loose-fitting clothing is an acceptable substitute for a martial arts uniform if one is not available.
