Can anyone recommend a reputable Aikido Dojo in Toronto Canada that isn't out to take my money (at least not without great instruction!)?

Great dojo, centrally located. Finally got to meet with Philip who I had known for years electronically, just before I returned to Japan. That was my second Yoshinkan experience, the first being with Kimeda's son Micheal in Japan a few years ago.

If I was in Toronto - that is where I would train and will visit when I can.

As a senior Shodokan Honbu instructor once told me - when Yoshinkan is good - it's very good. No great expert on the style but I suspect this is what he was talking about.

My family is from Toronto, so I visit and train there quite often. I'm partial to Iwama style Aikido and there is a great dojo nearby in Kitchener headed by Stefan Barton Sensei who trains every year in Iwama under Saito Sensei. (www.goldentriangleaikido.com)I don't know if that's too far away for you, but I think it's deffinitely worth it and make the time to commute when I can. (He also offers uchideshi programs) If you want Aikikai, there is a good group down on Broadview and College at the Aikido Shugyo Dojo. There are other Aikikai dojos too. Just depends what style you're interested in.

Phil is a great source of info for Aikido in Toronto.

You can also check out Bob Zimmerman's Toronto Aikikai. He's a 6th dan under Yamada Sensei. His website is http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/5802/

Some of the people training there come to seminars at our club in Holland sometimes.
Nice people, good atmosphere and once or twice a year a seminar with Henry Kono Sensei (IIRC).
