Greetings Aiki-folks!
I am not sure I posted an intro. when I first joined as I was trying to locate someone quickly. So here goes-
I am born and raised in San Diego, CA. and have been in the martial arts since 1991, although I only have 1.5 years of Aikido training (and that was in 1997)
I am 39, a former law enforcement & military guy now turned salt and pepper Aikido beginner! AGAIN LOL
A friend of mine opened a new Yoga, Pilates, Tai-Chi and Martial Arts Studio, and I was able to talk my old instructor out of retirement to once again train us in Aikido a couple nights a week.
Our lineage is:
O Sensei
Koichi Tohei Sensei
Tokuji Hirata Sensei
Ben Sekishiro Sensei
Bud Kassahn Sensei
us
Kassahn Sensei is 79 and began training with Tokuji Hirata Sensei in San Diego in 1964.
I am so glad to be back training in Aikido and want to thank you all for this forum and for the abundance of advice found herein.
James
P.S. I apologize if I missed the correct titles (Shihan, Sensei, etc.) I listed them all as Sensei although Tohei is obviously > Shihan
Hi James,
Welcome to AikiWeb and thank you for your introduction.
