Just wanted to start off my presence here with a brief hello.
I started Aikido back in college in an ASU dojo and studied for a few years, reaching 3rd kyu. After graduating and a year of working, I started law school and threw myself into legal practice for 10+ years. Aikido was never far from my mind, and when I found myself with a more flexible schedule (in-house counsel), I started up again at a AAA dojo near my house. Needless to say, I was a bit rusty, but after just a short time my ukemi and tenkans were smooth again (you have to love muscle memory).
I'm enjoying the process of learning the intricacies of various techniques (that I thought I knew), as well as new ones on which the AAA puts particular focus (i.e., head and wrist strikes before executing the technique in question).
Hi Michael,
Welcome to AikiWeb and welcome back to aikido.
