Seattle School of Aikido is hosting a seminar to help raise funds for our new mats. Our canvas mat has served us well but its time has come. To help offset this cost, were hosting an open seminar that we hope will be a fun way to help make the purchase of a new mat a little less painful. We also feel that this is a great opportunity to celebrate Seattle School of Aikido instructors and our influences.
The seminar will feature:
Andy Dale, Chief Instructor of Xin Qi Shen Dojo. Andy Dale has studied martial arts since 1968 and is a wealth of knowledge about Japanese and Chinese arts. You can read more about him at his website: http://www.wuji.com/ATDale/
Allan Kaplan, Seattle School of Aikido. Allan began studying Aikido in 1976 and has trained and taught at SSoA since 1987. He was awarded yodan in 1993 and considers Mitsugi Saotome, Hiroshi Ikeda, Seishiro Endo and Terry Dobson as his primary influences in Aikido.
Robby Pellett, Seattle School of Aikido, Yoseikan Aikibudo. Robby has studied Aikido since 1979. From 1986 to 1992, he lived in Japan and trained at the Yoseikan hombu dojo with Mochizuki Sensei. He also holds the rank of godan in Shinto Ryu Iai-battojutsu which is also taught through Seattle School of Aikido.
Mike Sato, Nihon Goshin Aikido, Icho Ryu Aikibudo. Mike Sato is a yudansha and instructor in the Nihon Goshin school of Aikido under David Morris sensei. Additionally Mike is a student of Icho Ryu Aikibudo under Neil Yamamoto Sensei .
Neil Yamamoto, nanadan and Chief Instructor of Icho Ryu Aikibudo. Bernie Lau appointed Neil Yamamoto as Chief Instructor of Icho Ryu Aikijujutsu in 2004. Neil brings an extremely varied background in various martial arts.
