View Full Version : No more Kimbo Slice
I hope that White will realize finally that all the hype that is attached to Kimbo doesn't equate to being a cash cow he hope for. They need to put that lame horse in the barn.

After watching Kimbo on the Ultimate fighter I'm once again reminded that appearances can be quite deceiving. He's nothing like the brute that the UFC powers attempted to portray him as. Quite the contrary, I found him to be a very soft spoken, thoughtful and spiritual man.

Ron,
That doesn't mean much in the UFC, sadly- other than White's promotional angle. Kimbo will finish out his contract and he will fight as long as people pay to see it. He may win a fight or two against lesser skilled opponents that he can handle. He is only as good as the money he brings in. Right now the UFC is lacking "Star Power." And Slice is the boost they need for now.
Kimbos first two major televised professional fights ended in big humilating losses. Losses that would finish other fighters in a heart beat. But in the end, Kimbo may win. Not by fights, but in another acting job. I think Kimbo makes a better actor than a real fighter.

Just to pipe in from an oblique angle... anyone catch that david blaine episode where he had Kimbo hit him full force in the stomach... twice?
Houdini'ish me thinks.

I think Kimbo has what it takes to be a good MMA fighter. He already has the desire, he doesn't mind getting hit, he's not too bad in the standup.
He just needs to focus on some grappling and he can be a good fighter. The problem is that he's fighting on a level above where he should be fighting. If Dana handles him properly, he could be turned into a great fighter.
