I got faceplanted on the mat tonight in class. Ended up getting my face glued back together by the ER doc. Fun stuff.

So for your amusement! Here are the after shots. Sorry didn't have my phone on me for any before shots.

Guess I need to be more aware. I didn't even know I was going down until it was too late to do anything about it :D

Ouch! Looks like you didn't quite succeed in blending with the mat. :D Hey at least your nose is intact.

Could be worse. You could be Jens Voigt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZiim-stdcU).

OUCH. Was it aikido, judo, or bjj?

Oh, did I say OUCH!

Heal quick, and get back on the horse (mat).
Best,
Ron

It was before bjj, a guy was showing a new judo throw variant he picked up. He did a few fit ins on it and I didn't think he was going to throw me. Then he threw me and I wasn't even close to prepared. It was a drop throw so by the time I realized I was a good 4 inches from the mat, too late to do anything but close my eyes and take it LOL.

I should be back on the mat by monday. The cut wasn't that deep, but the doc said it had to be glued or it would scar.

Note to self, if someone asks to use you for a new throw, the answer is N O.

!!

Ron

That hurt so much to watch; had to see it more than once.

Don -- glad you got yourself put back together.
